Originally conceived from an improvisation on Gabrielle Faure’s Sicilian this composition, in 9/4 time, features the guitar and trumpet in a winding melody over a funky vamp. The original melody is heard in the guitar behind an improvised solo for trumpet or flugelhorn, and may be played by a string section should one be available.
