Steve Dillon, President/Owner, Trombone/Euphonium/Tuba, Fife, Fiddle
Steve grew up in Edison, New Jersey where he attended Edison High School. He attended Rutgers University and graduated in 1986 with a degree in Music Education. After spending six years in banking, Steve, with his wife Lynn, opened Dillon Music at the Woodbridge location in 1992.
During his studies at Rutgers, Steve was fortunate to be in school and play with some of todays stars of the music world: Terence Blanchard, Frank Lacy, Dave Shoemaker and Mike Mossman, just to name a few. While at Rutgers, Steve met and studied with William Fielder, the person in which Steve credits with setting him on the straight and narrow. Prof (as he is known by his students) is still an influence in Steves life and has been a great supporter of Dillon Music over these many years.
Also during his time at Rutgers, Steve studied with Eddie Bert. Mr. Bert has been a great supporter of Steve and Dillon Music, and is one who Steve goes to when he has questions about the music scene over the past 70 years.
Steves other teachers include Carl Delaparuti, William Seeman, Janice Robinson and Hal Janks. Steve also had the honor of taking a few lessons with Al Lube before his passing.
Currently Steve has been playing the fiddle, an instrument that is in the family blood, so to say.
Steve is also involved with helping to establish an Arts Village in Woodbridge Township, under the direction of the current Mayor, John McCormac. |

Matt Walters E-mail
Tuba Sales, Repair
Matt grew up in Carroll County, Maryland. After High School, Matt studied tuba at the Peabody Conservatory of Music for a brief but wonderful time as a student of Dave Bragunier. After realizing a career in tuba performance was not for him, he went on to retail sales where he was quickly promoted to a store manager before his 22nd birthday. Matt finally gave in to his love of everything mechanical when he went back to school to earn his FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics License. He spent a total of 11 years in the Aviation Industry that included 4 years in the USAF where he completed an Associates Degree in Aircraft Maintenance. Along the way, he took an 18 month break to go back to school and earn a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Resource Management from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. When Steve Dillon offered him the chance to combine his love of music, retail experience, and mechanical background, Matt said Yes and has been working for Dillon Music since May of 1994. |
