It’s holiday time once again.  We’ve been stocking up on ‘lots of goodies for all the girls and boys’.  There’s a wide assortment of stocking stuffers for under $10.00.  And if you don’t know what to give your musician friend or family member, you can give a Dillon Music gift card made out to any amount which is good for both stores.

What’s happening at Dillon’s?
Something Old:  Alto saxophones.  We have a nice assortment of used Selmers from Balanced Action to Series II.  There’s a P.Mauriat PMXA-67R without a scratch on it!  If you like vintage horns, our assortment currently includes Buescher, Conn, King, and Martin.

Something New:  Stocking Stuffers!  Here are a few ideas….Swabs: Silk swabs for every instrument, multi-colored flute snakes to fit over your cleaning rod.  Care: Humidifiers, mouthpiece cushions, mouthpiece brushes, thumb cushions, Yamaha pad papers, silver polishing cloths, lacquer polishing cloths, anti-tarnish strips.  Multi-Tool combination screw driver and spring hook in one convenient tool.  Cork grease: Collins cork grease comes in over 30 different scents!   ChopSavers all-natural lip balm – good for non-musicians as well.

Something Borrowed:  We also sell instruments on consignment.  We have an early 1950s Buffet R13 Andrea overhauled so it plays like new.  Check out the Yamaha 62 bari sax.  This horn is in pristine condition and a real bargain.  Or the hard-to-find silver-plated Selmer Series III tenor sax.  There are grenadilla piccolos, a clarinet in A, and many vintage saxophones.  Just in: Buffet E11, solid silver Sonore flute SF6000.  Buy used and save!

Something Cool:
Sax Rack.  Are your saxophones stored all over your home?  Do you like to use contoured cases?  Check out the SaxRack available only at Dillon Music.  Now you can store your saxophones in one convenient place on a beautiful piece of furniture.  All cases stand upright on the rack so the shape of the case does not matter.  It will hold straight sopranos and even baris.  They come in two colors: black with stained oak or all black.  We have them on display in the store or check them out on our website.

Winter Reminder:  Help protect your wood instruments this winter with insulated case covers.  Check out our assortment of Altieri bags.  Also remember to check the humidifiers for your instrument (we have Humistats and Dampits) and for your reeds (Rico reed revitalizers and the Vandoren reed vault).

What’s on the horizon?
We will be on the road again in January heading for the Navy Saxophone Symposium January 23 and 24, 2009, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

There’s more in the store than what you see on the website.  So, if you don’t find what you’re looking for, give me a call or send me an email (elaine@dillonmusic.com ).

See you soon!
