Yamaha synthetic valve oil is more consistent than traditional oils, giving it better stability in different temperatures. In addition to a smoother feel, you will also be adding to the life of your instrument thanks to a powerful corrosion inhibitor contained in the oil.
Super Light
This low-viscosity oil is ideal for playing fast passages in ad-lib solos, for example. Also recommended for piccolo trumpet and other horns designed for high-register playing.
Light
This oil is for instruments with very precise valve tolerances such as Yamaha's professional models, the Z series, the Xeno series, and the Xeno Artist models.
Regular
The perfect weight oil for all around use in any piston valves. It provides a light , quick touch with smooth long lasting action. This grade oil will work with all piston valve instruments.
Vintage
A thicker oil for older instruments with looser valves to give smooth long lasting action. It is also ideal for instruments with larger valve pistons such as tubas and euphoniums.

Good
Yamaha oil is one of the best I've tried; the "light" works very well for new instruments, while the "regular" is for instruments that are a few years old.
For years I have used Hettman’s #3 on a tuba with chronically unreliable valves. But the Hettman’s oil is getting hard to find. The Yamaha oil seems to be working for now. Time will tell..
