Dillon Flugelhorn

I decided to purchase a Dillon Flugel in rose brass finish in early 2024, and I have been very happy with its quality. The instrument has attracted positive attention from my orchestra and brass quintet colleagues. The first question from my peers is something along the lines of, "Is that a Yamaha?" or, "What kind of horn is that?" before adding, "It sounds terrific!" Although its excellent tone grabs attention, so does its remarkable intonation. Occasionally, I use valves 1 and 2 on top space E, but virtually everything else on the horn is very close to where it needs to be on the tuner. I have been playing trumpet professionally for 35 years and have played several Yamaha flugelhorns over the years. Despite their much higher prices, I don't think the Yamaha flugels are better horns. They might not even equal the Dillon. The Dillon has good valve action as well. I highly recommend the Dillon Flugelhorn, as it is an excellent deal for the price. For those equipment-minded folks who need to know specifics, i.e., bore size, mouthpiece dimensions, etc., perhaps measurements could be supplied on the website in the future. I have been happy with the supplied mouthpiece, however.

I recently purchased this horn. I my opinion there are no horns out there at this price point that can match it for fit and finish and for how in tune this instrument is. It is better than my yamaha 631. The more i play it the better it gets. it responds well to all my flugel pieces and the valve action is first rate. Great playing flugelhorn, easy blowing and in tune! No issues with the threads of valves like I have had before in this price range of horns. A very nice horn all the way around! Thanks Dillon Music for offering such a fine value! ,
