The Toby Oft Alto Mouthpiece was developed with the principal trombonist of the Boston Symphony. Mr. Oft has very specific rim ideas and sound concepts that translated into these pieces. The blank is lighter, which allows a wide variety of colors to be chosen from and used within the sound palate. This piece soars in the upper register, providing brilliance when pushed.
The Oft Alto Mouthpiece has a cup diameter of 1.004" and a .226" throat. This piece is amazing to play on Kruspe-style altos as well as traditional American altos. It was well received at the 2015 American Trombone Workshop, selling out in the first day.
